Capital Improvement Campaign

The Duluth Curling Club is starting a Capital Improvement Campaign to help raise the funds needed to pay for upgrades at the club. In the summer of 2011 the club made a major investment by upgrading the bar and restaurant area. The board determined that the improvements should not be part of a dues increase and instead a fundraising campaign would be initiated to repay the expenses.

A fundraising committee has been started to strategize and implement our program. The committee currently includes DCC members Tom Eng, Dave Johnson, Jon Fiskness and Jeff Heikkila. If you are interested in joining the committee please talk to Dick in the office, any board member, or any committee member.

The committee identified a number of opportunities for DCC members to give.

Pledges: Anyone can contribute to the DCC Capital Improvement Campaign through a pledge. A person giving $100 or more will get a plaque on the DCC Pledge Board located near the front office. Pledges can be financed over a couple of years depending on the gift. Click here to download a pledge card.

Raffles: The DCC will be having raffles throughout the curling season, managed by the DCC Gambling Manager.

Estates and Wills: Anyone interested in donating money to the DCC through a will, life insurance policy or trust can contact any board member to start the process of getting that in place.

Named Gift Opportunities: There will be many opportunities for members to give and in return have something named at the DCC. If you are interested in this contact any board member for details on the process.

Fundraising Events: Dinners, Silent Auctions, Golf Tournaments, and bonspiels. A goal thermometer that is updated weekly will be located in the lounge as gifts come in and move us toward our goal.
