Minnesota Junior State Playdowns 2013-14

The Minnesota Junior State Playdowns will be held Dec 26-29, 2013 at the Duluth Curling Club. Minnesota will send two Men’s and  two Women’s representatives to Nationals.
Good things to know:
  • Playoff format will be SINGLE ROUND ROBIN
  • Men’s pool has 8 teams
  • Women’s pool has 7 teams
  • There will be 7 draws scheduled for men and 6 draws  for women for regular round robin.  The last Sunday draw,  is tiebreakers only.
  • The Playdowns are 10 end games, with a 5 minute break after the 5th end
  • Teams always need to be ready to play 30 minutes early
  • Each team will have 9 minutes of practice time prior to the start of the draw, for pre-game practice/last stone draw
  • The hammer will be determined by a single draw shot executed at the end of the pre-game practice session.
  • Games are timed at 73 minutes, with no time charged for:
    • 1 minute break after each end
    • 5 minutes between the 5th and 6th ends
    • Measurements to determine score or if a stone is in the free guard zone

10:30   men’s practice (90 minutes)
1:15    men’s team meeting
2:00    1st draw (men only )
this draw would be only sheets (tbd)
Fri
10:30   women’s practice (90 minutes)
1:15    women’s team meeting
2:00    2nd draw (men and women, 7 sheets)
7:00    3rd draw (7 sheets)
Sat
9:00    4th draw
2:00    5th draw
7:00    6th draw
Sun
9:00    7th draw (this would be the last regular round robin draw)
1:00    tiebreakers
