Friends of Patrick Plys of Duluth are organizing a benefit and celebration in his honor from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, in Somers Hall at The College of St. Scholastica. The public is welcome.
Plys, 46, is battling brain cancer and the effects of a stroke. He has insurance, but it won’t meet the financial challenge he faces along with his wife Laura and their five children.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and may be purchased at the door. The event will feature a gourmet French meal, silent auction and live musical entertainment.
Cash donations to the Patrick Plys Fund are also welcome. Please send them to Wells Fargo, Patrick Plys Fund. To donate an item or service to the silent auction, or to volunteer for the event contact:
Lynn Christman (218) 391-0711 email@example.com or Jean Toninato (218) 391-5904 email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The food is being prepared by the Chefs Club, an association of local professional chefs. Leading the food preparation is local celebrity chef Glenn D’Amour.
Several volunteers are needed to help cleanup the Hall after 8 pm on Thursday. If you can help, please email email@example.com.
